Maybe a bad title for the post but that is what they are doing. Some areas of the lake are already having serious weed problems so we are getting an early handle on the situation. Our maintenance guys are spraying to kill some (but not all) the weeds. It is important not to get carried away with the kill because weeds compete with algae for the available nutrients. We need some weeds in order to hold down algae growth as well as to provide fish habitat. The key is finding the perfect mix to keep the lake enjoyable for boaters and fishermen while controlling algae. This is a yearly problem we will never win completely but as you can see, the guys are doing their best on this perfect calm day for this work. Have at it guys!
