Yesterday I heard a message that hit home regarding the current situation in our community. An analogy was used that was very appropriate and a lot of us should think about it.
“It is impossible to drive forward while staring at the rear view mirror.” It is fine to occasionally glance back to see where we have been but we must concentrate on the road ahead……meaning the future. There are many things that have happened not only in our recent conflict but also in years prior that have been controversial. I am sure in the future there will be actions taken after which we will all look back and think we missed the mark. That is the way of life.
We all need to remember we can not change what has transpired. Our hope for a better future is to look forward and work together to provide the best living experience possible for those choosing Candlewick as their home. With cooperation from all factions it can happen. It must happen. We all want a nice, friendly place to either raise our kids or simply live out our remaining years as is my situation.
I think all of us, myself included, need to consider this quote I came across not long ago.
