While outside this afternoon I heard the distinctive trilling call of Sandhill Cranes. Looking up I saw a flock of 30-40 of these majestic birds flying northwest to their summer home. These birds can attain a height of 4 feet with a wingspan of up to 8 feet. There call can be heard for miles. They are truly a sight to behold and a sure sign that spring is on its way.
