Thoughts from Karl

We have a wonderful life

Sitting here by the window with flakes of snow gently falling to the ground, I have to ponder how lucky I am. My wife and I live in Candlewick Lake in Poplar Grove, a nice private community, full of wildlife and country splendor. We moved here from Lombard a few years ago after touring the community a couple of times. We like the gates not to seem snooty but for the protection that they give. We loved that this is a lake community with lots to offer for everyone. Included in the yearly dues is total pool access, fishing, tennis, use of the gym which is inside of the recreation center, boating, hiking and 9 holes of golf. We will soon have our restaurant reopen; we make use of the many clubs that are here. We belong to the Flames, which are a social club; we participate with the morning walkers in our gym and with a social card club. On many days Candlewick puts on events for all ages, fishing contests, camp outs, and rock and roll bands with outdoor picnics, mud volleyball, family movie nights, 4TH of July parade and fireworks and the giant community garage sale. Most people walk and wave as you drive by. Our streets are safe and on many days children as well as adults are out strolling. I feel blessed to have this opportunity to live here; the housing market plays to the buyer so grab your realtor and see what I am talking about. It is so neat to drive down the street and see the ice fishermen’s huts out on the lake and all the beauty of the snow on the trees and the scenic lakescape. I know that sometimes stories come out that makes it seem our community has lots of problems, but it just is not so. I think some people leak out bad stories so no one will want to move in, but the truth is out, so come on down. Yes it is a wonderful life and a wonderful place to live.
