Today
was the volunteer appreciation dinner for those who donated their
time and efforts in the various committees and commissions during the
past year in selfless service to our community as well as saving us a
lot of expense by their work. They deserve a lot of thanks for their
dedication.
There
was a nice turnout of around 100 volunteers and their guests. The
meal was Italian based with lasagna, Italian beef, Italian breads,
and other Italian dishes. Cake balls, spumoni ice cream, and other
treats were served as dessert. It appears all had a good time and
left very full! A couple bottles of wine were on each table and the
tables were clothed in green, white, and red (the colors of the
Italian flag). A very themed dinner.
A
special thanks should go to Karl and Ellen Steiskal, Bonnie and Mandy Marron, and Sandy Morse, all of whom spent a huge amount of time planning, shopping, and
preparing this feast. If I left someone out I
apologize. There were also a lot of helpers with set-up and tear down.
