Board meeting unofficial minutes

Our Pride secretary was unavailable so you will have to put up with me this month. Ken Dillenburg

The turnout seemed small this month. During the public session the suggestion was made to allow duplexes to be built in Savannah Oaks to get more building started. A variance has already been made to allow smaller homes than originally allowed and duplexes are not currently on the table.

Questions arose regarding the opening of the Dockside Grill. There were some drain and other problems that have held up opening and they are being addressed at this time. Not sure of the opening date.

Roland (the new Chief) and Jim (the deputy Chief) were introduced and they gave a brief history of their background and areas of expertise. Both were well accepted and have great plans for the community. Both received applause. I have a good feeling about the future of public safety under their leadership.

Early October will be the dredging of the silt pond by the golf course. It is expected to take around four days.

The financial report indicated total cash available at $3,966,851, of which around $2,800,000 is in reserves so things are looking good as usual. Bad debt was written off of about $6,250.00 due mainly to foreclosures.

The recreation committee is going to have a meeting with kids asking them what they would like to have as activities they would enjoy. Their next meeting is Monday, September 26 so all are invited to attend.

Aqua commission is attempting to work out a public forum for residents to voice their displeasure to the ICC regarding the proposed rate increase many feel is unjustified.

The vote to allow larger then normally allowed motors on the lake if run only at idle was passed on a six to one vote with myself dissenting. I sincerely hope this doesn’t become a problem with enforcement by adding more for our safety patrol to watch. Strict penalties are in place but lake patrol can not be everywhere at once. We’ll see.

Trick or treating will be October 30 from two to six. The normal "turn your porch lights on rule if you want trick or treaters" will apply. Public safety will be out in force to stop problems before they occur.

There will be a food and toy drive this year for ten needy Candlewick families. It will be strictly donations with no dues money involved. Details to follow as the plan gels.

That was about it. Full official details will be in in your CWL monthly newspaper.
