Last minute attempt

I understand those wanting to add city government to our association have been near the gates this weekend in a last minute attempt to get needed signatures before the deadline of July 16th. I hoped they had decided to work cooperatively within our existing structure to find remedies to what they consider inadequate areas rather than try to disrupt our lifestyle. That doesn't seem to be the case.

They of course have every right to try to accomplish their agenda just as we have every right to point out the reasons incorporation is a terrible and costly idea. We are quite sure with all the facts presented if this proposition makes it to the ballot factual knowledge will defeat it soundly. We will be diligent in protecting the Candlewick property owners interests in this matter. We take your rights very seriously.

Months ago I made a statement in an editorial published in the Candlewick newsletter indicating the group wanting to add more government should have no problem getting a the minimum of 200 signatures needed. With Candlewick's population of over five thousand, that number of signatures and many more should be easy to obtain for almost any cause just from those wanting to be left alone by those collecting signatures.

We will now watch to see how this proceeds. Count on us to keep you informed about any new developments as well as letting you know of the pitfalls ahead for the voters. This is a very important and dangerous proposal we need to watch in order to protect our assets and privacy.
