I mentioned during the board meeting ECC report Tuesday night that the ECC members have been working on a way to make the tree removal situation more user-friendly for property owners and to avoid the sometimes overly restrictive aspects of the requests as well as the wait time for approval. I am happy to say the motion to adopt the new guidelines was unanimously approved at the Wednesday night ECC meeting. The folks on the commission are working to be less involved in your personal preferences regarding your property. There will still have to be a form filled out indicating which tree or trees you wish to remove and your insurance coverage should the work effect your neighbors. Going forward under normal circumstances the building inspector will be authorizing removal without waiting for ECC approval. In my humble opinion this is your property and your right.
