Other than signing on this morning to see an email comment that was signed “Ken” sent to me and others that I did not write or send, there is not a lot of news today so just some thoughts. I believe that situation has been cleared up at this point.
Kind of an interesting change came over our community at least for a few days about
ten days ago and I am sure all felt it. When the tornado came roaring through Caledonia and some local farms priorities changed in the blink of an eye. A lot of us have friends that were affected or at least felt the devastation of having a neighboring village suffer such destruction.
The major issue affecting Candlewick has of course been the incorporation push being attempted by some. For a period of time that was repositioned far to the rear of my thinking and I feel sure many on the other side of this issue felt the same effect. Sorrow and worry reset a person’s thought processes. When one can not reach friends by phone or even enter their village it is a real awakening.
Things are back to normal now in Candlewick with our knock-down drag-out fight ensuing once again. That being said, I now have more hope that when this battle is finally over we can actually pull together for the good of our association. Many from both sides tried to help in the recovery from the disaster so working for the higher purpose is still possible. Right and good must prevail.
O.K., off my soapbox. Ken Dillenburg
