The subjects were charged accordingly both by the Sheriff’s office and by the Department of Public Safety.

Open Door / Residence Check

We had two occasions in which Public Safety noticed open doors to residences that appeared suspicious. One, at the 400 block of Staffordshire and the other at the 100 block of Hastings. In both cases, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office was notified, the residence was checked for intruders and properly secured. Public Safety will continue efforts to check empty residences for the possibility of intruders.

Public Safety responded to a call of Criminal Damage at the 200 block of Gables. Upon arrival, officers met with the owner of a vehicle who found his vehicle had been smeared with dog feces. It was determined that the vehicle had not been damaged. An extra patrol was requested for the residence and no further incidents were reported.

Public Safety officers responded to a call of a subject in distress at the 100 Block of Drew Court. Officers assisted the subject until the Capron Rescue Unit arrived.

Animal Complaints

Public Safety officers responded to the 100 Block of Queens Place for a report of a loud noise complaint. While investigating the complaint, a public safety officer encountered two loose dogs in the roadway causing the officer to utilize pepper spray to repel a dog attack.
