IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF FRIDAY DECEMBER 2, 2011, A SHOOTING INCIDENT OCCURRED WITHIN A RESIDENCE LOCATED IN THE CANDLEWICK LAKE COMMUNITY. AS A RESULT OF THIS TRAGIC EVENT, TWO RESIDENTS WERE INJURED, ONE FATALLY.
DEPUTIES FROM THE BOONE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT ASSISTED BY THE CANDLEWICK LAKE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY AND CAPRON RESCUE RESONDED TO THE RESIDENCE. ONE VICTIM WAS AIR LIFTED BY LIFELINE HELICOPTER FOR MEDICAL ASSISTANCE.
THE BOONE COUNTY SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT IS CURRENTLY CONDUCTIING A THOROUGH INVESTIGATION INTO THIS INCIDENT. IT WILL BE SEVERAL DAYS UNTIL ANY RESULTS WILL BE AVAILABLE. AT THAT TIME, THE SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT CAN BE CONTACTED FOR FUTHER INFORMATION.
THE RESIDENTS OF CANDLEWICK LAKE HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR. THERE IS NO THREAT TO OUR RESIDENTS. IT IS BELEIVED THIS WAS AN ISOLATED INCIDENT WHICH IS NOW CONTAINED AND BEING INVESTIGATED.
