The last I heard

Thursday morning the news was heralding a possible breakthrough on the federal debt ceiling increase that is being debated in Washington. The Republicans it is reported will allow for some tax increases but only if the Democrats agree to cut Medicare and Social Security spending. This seems the oddest “compromise” yet. Social Security checks have been frozen for two years now and the Medicare monthly cost has gone up for new enrollees already. How about all the grants for ridiculous projects and research that are being funded? They must be off limits.

I have never said I am not partisan but I will tell you this, both sides of this issue are so far removed from the real world life of most of us it is pitiful. They need to decide what are necessities are and which are simply nice programs. Our country will go bankrupt if these problems are not worked out. Logical cuts, not more taxes are the answer and they need to wake up. The debt ceiling will in the end be raised so the U.S. can pay it’s bills but the day of reckoning is coming.

This evening I see on the Drudge Report the Republicans are saying no tax increases are acceptable. Who knows what is up their sleeves?

We are running your association in a cost effective way to keep from falling into the abyss so many government bodies have experienced. Rest assured your board and management are doing our best to toe the line on expenses for you and your family.
