Incorporation survey results

You may recall months ago the Candlewick board of directors voted to have three mailings of surveys to decide if the board should have any involvement in investigating the pros and cons of incorporating Candlewick into a city. There had been much dissension and division in our community and the board was urged at one time to approach the surrounding villages asking for permission to become a city if the proposition was passed in a binding vote. Today the surveys were counted.

The results are as follows
Total countable surveys received......1355
"Yes" votes to have board involvement.....497
"No" votes meaning no board involvement.....858
"Yes " votes needed to mandate board involvement.....1163

Obviously this does not mean individuals may not pursue the issue but without the necessary 50% plus 1 property owner vote for board action the board involvement issue is dead.
